Austin Sports Club celebrates downtown debut

Community Impact marked the downtown debut of Austin Sports Club following a September 23 ribbon-cutting with Lobos Hospitality, the Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Austin Alliance. The hospitality concept officially opened on September 10 at 205 E. Third Street.
The article directly credits PETERMAX Co. with the design, describing an interior inspired by historic athletic clubs and the visual language of American sports. Vintage locker-room references, museum-style trophy cases and richly layered materials create an environment that feels collected rather than newly themed.
Founder Peter Maxwell Bowden explains that Austin Sports Club is “not a sports bar, but a cultural space.” Its design celebrates competition, camaraderie and the broader human connection to sport while supporting a full-service restaurant and social destination.
Austin Sports Club was developed through a partnership between Lobos Hospitality and Boardroom Hospitality, the sports and entertainment company associated with Kevin Durant, Rich Kleiman and Joe Gebbia.
