Sports and Business Team Opens Luxury Austin Sports Club

CultureMap Austin covers the opening of Austin Sports Club, a new downtown restaurant and gathering place developed by Lobos Hospitality in partnership with Boardroom Hospitality. The team behind the concept includes Kevin Durant, Rich Kleiman and Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia.
The article describes Austin Sports Club as a contemporary reinterpretation of the opulent American athletic clubs of an earlier era. PETERMAX Co., founded by Peter Maxwell Bowden, designed the interior using midcentury silhouettes, a deep brown material palette, custom architectural elements and carefully integrated sports imagery to establish a refined alternative to the conventional sports bar.
The finished environment supports the project’s combined dining, entertainment and social functions. An American steakhouse-inspired menu, themed cocktails, weekend brunch and game-day programming allow the restaurant to operate as both an elevated hospitality destination and a gathering place for Austin’s sports and business communities.
