Teddy and Kaitlin Myers turned a major leap of faith into Culture Shock Hospitality, the restaurant group behind Chico Malo and Wren & Wolf. After leaving their jobs and selling their Downtown Phoenix home, the couple used the proceeds to launch their first restaurant concept.
Chico Malo opened at CityScape Phoenix in 2017, introducing a bold Mexican restaurant concept with craft cocktails, elevated cuisine, artwork, and a patio overlooking Patriot’s Park. The Myers later expanded their portfolio with a second Chico Malo in Miami and launched Pretty Decent Concepts with Thor Nguyen.
Wren & Wolf represents the couple’s next creative chapter, combining day-to-night dining with coffee, breakfast, entrées, desserts, and craft cocktails. Large murals, taxidermy birds, and other “animals of the night” shape the atmosphere, with hospitality designer Peter Bowden designing the interiors.
The Myers’ Downtown Phoenix projects reflect their goal of creating distinctive, energetic destinations for the local community. Their expanding portfolio also includes Trophy Room, a new bar planned adjacent to Wren & Wolf, also designed by Peter Bowden, Founder and Creative Director at PETERMAX Co.
