Dining Review: Wren & Wolf

Wren & Wolf interior in Downtown Phoenix with a warm wood bar, greenery, pendant lighting, and an atmospheric restaurant setting.

Wren & Wolf in Downtown Phoenix, designed with hospitality designer Peter Bowden.

Wren & Wolf is a modern American restaurant located in Renaissance Square beneath a Downtown Phoenix high-rise. The interior creates an immersive world through dramatic lighting, rich materials, taxidermied animals, and large-scale murals depicting wolves and their feathered prey.

Designed by Peter Bowden, the restaurant combines a mysterious, theatrical atmosphere with a broad day-to-night dining program. Guests can visit for coffee and breakfast, or return later for entrées, desserts, and craft cocktails.

The restaurant’s menu includes elevated small plates such as Peruvian ceviche, grilled and chilled prawns, beef carpaccio, za’atar man’ouche, and prosciutto with melon and ricotta. The overall experience pairs ambitious food and cocktails with an interior that is deliberately more dramatic than conventional modern American dining.
