Phoenix New Times visited Goodwood Tavern for its “Happy Hour Report Card,” evaluating the Old Town Scottsdale restaurant’s atmosphere, service, food and drinks. The reviewer found a comfortable neighborhood destination suited to casual dining and people-watching.
The article particularly praises the interior, describing its wood-covered surfaces, dim lighting, cushioned booths and woodland-animal details. Together, those elements created a cozy and unexpectedly peaceful environment despite the tavern’s proximity to nearby nightclubs.
Goodwood’s happy-hour menu earned favorable marks for its generous portions and familiar bar-food classics. Fried pickles and warm pretzels stood out, while the buffalo chicken dumplings received a more mixed assessment. The drinks included discounted drafts, well drinks and house wine, although the promised specialty cocktail menu was not yet available.
