Following an extensive redesign by PETERMAX Co., Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina officially opened in Newport, Rhode Island, introducing renovated guestrooms, refreshed public spaces, and enhanced waterfront amenities.

Hospitality Design announced the opening of Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina, marking the transformation of the former Hyatt Regency Newport into a refreshed luxury waterfront destination on Goat Island. The project introduced a distinctly New England-inspired design language while preserving one of Newport's premier hospitality destinations.

Led by PETERMAX Co., the comprehensive redesign included 257 renovated guestrooms and suites, refreshed public spaces, a redesigned lobby, expanded outdoor amenities, a new marina, an enhanced pool deck and pool club, a kids' club, and a full-service spa. The property also features more than 27,000 square feet of event space, 50,000 square feet of outdoor gathering areas, and signature food and beverage concepts operated by LDV Hospitality, including Scarpetta.

The project reflects PETERMAX Co.'s approach to hospitality design by blending timeless coastal architecture with contemporary luxury, creating a destination that embraces Newport's maritime heritage while elevating the guest experience through thoughtfully reimagined interiors and waterfront amenities.
