Hyatt Regency Newport Launches Redesign and Rebranding
Hospitality Design announced the transformation of the former Hyatt Regency Newport into Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina, showcasing Peter Max Bowden's redesign inspired by the character and coastal heritage of New England.
Hospitality Design featured the rebranding and redesign of the former Hyatt Regency Newport as Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina. Situated on 10 waterfront acres on Goat Island, the resort underwent a comprehensive renovation led by Peter Max Bowden, introducing a refined New England aesthetic throughout the property.
The transformation included 257 redesigned guestrooms and suites, a refreshed lobby, an expanded pool deck and pool club, a new marina, a full-service spa, and enhanced indoor and outdoor event spaces. The redevelopment also introduced new food and beverage destinations, including Scarpetta and the poolside Pineapples venue operated by LDV Hospitality.
Blending contemporary hospitality with the timeless character of coastal Rhode Island, the redesign established Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina as a year-round waterfront destination while honoring the history and setting of Goat Island.
