Austin’s West Fifth Area Gets Separate Dining, Drink Concepts Under Same Roof

Community Impact featured Manny’s and Powder Room following their April 2024 opening at 301 W. Fifth Street in Downtown Austin. Designed by PETERMAX, the two concepts share an address while offering deliberately different dining and nightlife experiences.
Manny’s pairs a casual deli concept with a bright, plant-filled interior and indoor-outdoor seating. The article highlights Peter Bowden’s use of mid-century modern elements throughout the space, with warm wood structures, tile, greenery, and natural light shaping its relaxed atmosphere.
Hidden behind a backroom door inside Manny’s, Powder Room shifts into an intimate cocktail and music lounge centered on vintage and craft cocktails, tableside mixology, and a more upscale experience. Together, the two spaces show two very different sides of the same PETERMAX hospitality project.
