Roman God of Fire Opens in Tempe Aug. 7

Roman God of Fire opens Aug. 7 in Tempe as the newest concept from Phoenix-based Pretty Decent Concepts. Developed in collaboration with James Beard Award winner Scott Conant and SC Culinary, the 8,000-square-foot restaurant centers on the flavors, architecture, and hospitality traditions of Rome.
Designed by Peter Bowden of PETERMAX Design, the interiors draw inspiration from old-world cathedrals, sacred relics, and Italian stonework. Sculptural statues, soaring arches, dramatic drapery, fluted columns, warm bronze tones, and layered lighting create a richly immersive dining environment that transports guests to another time and place.
The wood-fired Italian menu includes handmade pastas, Roman-inspired dishes, seafood, steaks, and desserts, while a forthcoming hidden cocktail lounge called Mea Culpa will extend the experience with a fiery palette of reds and golds.
