Roman God of Fire to Open in Tempe in 2026

Fabulous Arizona previews Roman God of Fire, an 8,000-square-foot Italian restaurant from Pretty Decent Concepts slated to open in Tempe in August 2026. Designed by Peter Bowden of PETERMAX Co., the environment draws inspiration from old-world cathedrals, sacred relics and Italian stonework, combining monumental architectural forms with contemporary craftsmanship.
Hidden within the restaurant will be Forgive Me, Father, an intimate cocktail chapel entered through a confessional. Conceived as a modern sanctuary of vice and virtue, the speakeasy-style bar will use layered lighting, sound and theatrical presentation to create a distinct experience within the larger restaurant. Chef Scott Conant will lead the Italian culinary program in collaboration with Pretty Decent Concepts Culinary Director Ivan Gonzalez.
