Austin Restaurants Opening Soon

Interior rendering of Austin Sports Club by Peter Bowden and PETERMAX Co., featuring dark wood paneling, illuminated stone tables, leather booths, woven chairs, sports photography and display cabinets filled with memorabilia.

A rendering by Peter Bowden and PETERMAX Co. reveals the richly layered interior of Austin Sports Club in downtown Austin. Dark wood envelops the ceiling and walls, while leather booths, woven chairs and softly illuminated stone tables give the room the intimacy of a private club. Framed sports photography, record displays and illuminated memorabilia cabinets establish the project’s athletic identity without sacrificing its refined, hospitality-driven atmosphere.

Austin Business Journal has previewed Austin Sports Club, a forthcoming downtown destination whose interior and visual experience are being designed by Peter Bowden and PETERMAX Co. The approximately 4,500-square-foot restaurant and social club will also include a 500-square-foot patio at the Hanover Brazos Street building.

The concept brings together Lobos Hospitality and Boardroom Hospitality—whose principals include NBA star and University of Texas alumnus Kevin Durant and entrepreneur Rich Kleiman—with Airbnb cofounder Joe Gebbia. Austin Sports Club is planned as a polished gathering place for elevated food and beverage, socializing and watching sports.

PETERMAX Co.’s rendering presents a warm, club-like environment shaped by dark architectural woodwork, intimate booths, softly glowing table lamps and carefully integrated sports memorabilia. Lobos Hospitality, the group behind Manny’s, Toasy Badger and Powder Room, will oversee daily operations, concept execution and ongoing programming.
