Former Hyatt in Rhode Island Reopens as Gurney’s Newport
Waterfront event space at Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina on Goat Island in Newport, Rhode Island.
Meetings & Conventions introduces Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina following the former Hyatt Regency’s $18 million transformation. Located on Goat Island, the 257-room waterfront resort becomes the first Newport outpost of the Gurney’s brand.
Peter Bowden of PETERMAX Co. gives the resort’s 257 guest rooms an understated design that complements the waterfront setting. The property also offers 27,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, 50,000 square feet of outdoor space and a pavilion for group clambakes.
LDV Hospitality leads four dining and drinking venues: Scarpetta, Corso, The Regent Cocktail Club and The Pineapple Club. Together, they bring Italian dining, coffee, cocktails and poolside hospitality to the resort.
